Our Education Programme
We run workshops for the general public and for schools. Our 'public' workshops are open to anyone aged 16 and over, unless stated (eg, Family Workshops). For workshops currently on offer, click here. For past workshops, click here.
- "Attending this course at Farfield Mill was worth every one of the 300 miles it took to get here. There is a wonderful atmosphere, a warm welcome and an interesting and varied array of exhibits and artists working - and all this, balanced with the physical and pictorial exhibits of the Mill's history. An enthusiasm radiates from both the permanent staff and volunteers - what a wonderful way to enable this Mill to 'live again'. May Martin

Special Events
From time to time, we are able to book local performers to join us in the Centre. These special events might include performances by local musicians, actors and storytellers, which visitors can mostly enjoy as part of their admission.
Gallery Events
Our exhibitions programme is often enhanced by events associated with the exhibitions, such as Alice Kettle's Illustrated Talk this September, as well as gallery tours or demonstrations. Most of these events take place in the relevant gallery and carry a small charge to cover the expenses of the artist(s).
Christmas Events
In early December, we usually get out the mulled wine and mince pies and welcome singers, harpists and other musicians to the Mill for a day or two. We find this helps us get into the festive spirit...
This year is no exception: we'll be welcoming in the Yuletide on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December, 10.30-5, with free entry all weekend.
Residency Events
During residencies, artists very often run workshops and other events, such as the concerts performed by Nigel Morgan in August 2009.
